There are many patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in Korea. According to the government announcement, the number increased from 310,000 in 2018 to 400,000 in 2022. Many people assume that the number will be higher if hidden patients are counted. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease mainly occurs in obese people. However, in Korea, there are many patients who are of normal weight but show signs of fatty liver. In Korea, the prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease among non-obese people is approximately 19%. You should not assume that you do not have fatty liver just because you are not obese. How to get rid of fatty liver
- Fortunately, our liver tries to restore itself to its normal state if it has not progressed to severe cirrhosis. Liver health can be restored through lifestyle modification and proper abstinence from alcohol.
- Regardless of whether you have fatty liver or not, drinking alcohol is not good for your liver. However, even if you drink a lot for one reason or another, if you quit drinking for 4 to 6 weeks, you can lose the fat in your liver that has accumulated due to alcohol.

- You should eat 400 to 500 kcal less per day. And make sure your carbohydrate intake ratio is less than 65%.

- Exercise is also important. You should do aerobic exercise for at least 30 minutes at least three times a week.

- Research results from the Catholic University Hospital showed that fat content in the liver decreases when you exercise consistently for at least three months. When exercising for less than 3 months, there was no effect at all in eliminating fatty liver.
